Projects Synopsis

  • Migration from HP Unix PA-RISC to Linux x86 Intel platform.
  • Re Implementation of Financial modules General Ledger, Accounts Receivables & Accounts Payables on 11.5.10.2
  • Maintenance of Oracle Applications Instances.

Business Drivers

As a part of a Joint Venture with a European logistics company, the customer had to segregate the operations and the books of one of their divisions. The existing version of Oracle Financials version was 11.5.5. The entire project had to be completed within a short time span of 8 weeks.

Solution

Bazaar247 was engaged to carry out the preliminary analysis and come out with an end-to-end recommendation on the suitable solution.

Based on the discussions with the core users, Bazaar247 suggested the re-implementation of Oracle Applications for the division.

The legacy implementation was on 11.5.5 on HP Unix (PA – RISC) platform whereas the re-implementation was on a Linux x86 Intel platform thereby reducing the OS licensing cost to the client.

Project Methodology

The Master data pertaining to the division’s GL, AP & AR was identified, segregated and was migrated to a Linux RHEL 3.0 AS based Oracle financials 11.5.10.2. The customer had extensive interfaces to their Front Office system. The interfaces and the customized reports were migrated to the upgraded version.

The entire project was implemented within a short span of 8 weeks.

Solution Impact

  • The new division being a separate legal entity would have their Own IT infrastructure to support their operations.
  • The client had upgraded to the then latest version of oracle applications viz: 11.5.10.2 thereby ensuring that any issues with the product was supported by Oracle Corporation.
  • With the replacement of HP PA-RISC platform with the Linux x86 Intel platform the client achieved a reduction in the OS licensing costs.
  • The move from Single Node to a Multi Node provided a tremendous improvement in the performance.
